It was cakes and cookies galore when the Hot Chocolate Lounge hosted a Macmillan coffee morning to support people affected by cancer. Tempting treats were produced by staff and local residents including a giant-sized peanut butter cake, a cappuccino cake and assorted biscuits and buns.
Customers were spoilt for choice at the popular café on Grays Court, Denaby, which also organised a balloon release for people to remember those affected by cancer. The event was well supported by local people and businesses including Conisbrough-based fabric gift designers Crafty Sew and Sew which organised a raffle and provided prizes. Frazer’s coffee roasters, which supplies The Hot Chocolate Lounge, also donated coffee for dozens of cuppas.
The event ran throughout the day and raised over £130. The café also plans to donate a prize to the person whose balloon is found to have travelled the furthest.
The Hot Chocolate Lounge, which is run by Doncaster West Development Trust and funded by the Big Lottery, is open during the day Monday to Saturday and also hosts regular bistro evenings.
